I grew up in the entertainment business
technical arts. I had spent years preparing and here it was 30 minutes to our live
broadcast. I remember thinking, "I could have made the show 10 times better, if
only I had those 2 hours I spent waiting for the electricians!". On more than
one occasion, people would tell me, "if we had known about the needs prior to
construction we would have done it." Now, after the fact, the items we needed
were usually far to costly to implement. Enough! I had enough of watching talented
technical artists waste valuable design and engineering time struggling to overcome poorly
designed performance facilities. I was going to do something about it! My facility
planning and engineering company would answer all the questions we could and provide
information to the building team before it was built. I knew I could make a
difference. People's efforts and God-given talent are far too valuable to waste
trying to overcome poor design.
I watched our first facility come to life. My clients eyes lit up as they realized that
their facility really worked! We had made a difference. We had given them exactly
what they wanted and more. We helped them plan for production elements they had not yet
conceived of needing. That is why Bloch Design is different than other consulting
firms. We design each facility to serve people...people are truly important and that is
what matters most. |
